CLOSER project kicks off!

Euro Contrôle Route, as part of wider consortium (ATF-IFTIM,CORTE,ETF and IRU) are taking part in the CLOSER project (Combined Learning Objectives for Safer European Roads).
The project will run for two years (2014-2015) and will focus on producing common learning objectives to harmonize learning outcomes of key actors in the logistical chain: drivers, transport operators and enforcers.
Thematically the project will focus on three areas :

• cabotage
• load securing
• extending the results of the TRACE project to the drivers and transport managers and
• checks at the premises of the road transport social legislation

A consultation with enforcement organizations from the EU28 will lead into the curriculum and training design, which in turn will feed into the train the trainer sessions, workshops and pilot courses.

On February 24th the project had his kick-off meeting at the Benelux General Secretariat. For the first time all stakeholders in the transport chain are working together towards common learning objectives. All partners agree that an important step towards harmonization and thus improved compliance has been taken.
