Leyden Multilateral exchange

From November 1-6 th the ECR multilateral exchange was held. Sixteen inspectors from different member states took part.



The exchange offered an opportunity to peek behind the curtain of the Dutch traffic inspectorate, ILenT (Inspectie Leefmilieu en Transport) through a series of presentations and participation in a roadside control in Tuesday. Ample time was set aside to exchange expertise on the main challenges facing road transport enforcement at this time: the refugee crisis,cabotage, the weekly rest of the driver.
Unique for this exchange was the participation of a French inspector from the island of Majotte. The French territory of the costs of Africa in the Indian ocean near to Tanzania and Madagascar.



On Wednesday the participants visited the Rotterdam harbour where colleagues from the customs and water transport inspection discussed enforcement practices with their road transport colleagues.



The week was closed with a guided tour of the old Leyden city centre and a traditional diner.

The organizers look back on a successful exchange. Participants were enthusiastic and their commitment contributed greatly to making the Leyden exchange a success.
