Czech-Hungarian bilateral control in the area of Brno

From the 9th May to 13th May 2011 one control unit of the Vas county transport inspectorate on behalf of the Hungarian National Transport Authority has conducted a joint action on invitation with the Czech partner authority (CSPSD) and police focusing mainly on tachograph manipulation cases in order to exchange practical experiences on the best methods of detection.

On the first and last days check site at the Czech-Slovak border on the freeway has been used and a manipulation with the help of magnet has been detected in one case and several infringements have been identified against driving and resting times. 2nd and 3rd day the check point was the Brno to Wien major road, where several technical and cargo securing deficiencies have been detected. Some of the vehices had broken breaking disk, spring assembly, worn tyre or non-compliant cargo or body securing.

The joint action has also helped us to compare the inspection work flows and methods and at the same time transmit our knowledge base as far as tachograph manipulations are concerned.

The next bilateral exchange is planned in Hungary around mid-summer and then in September in the Czech Republic.
