ADR Cross border Enforcement (ACE)

On 25th and 26th September 2018 the third ADR Cross border Enforcement (ACE) took place in bright sunshine and with a high attendance of ADR control services at the A4 in the neighborhood of Dresden (Germany). Totally 17 inspectors of Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany (of which 17 experts of the BAG) were participating in this ACE.

On 21th and 22nd June 2018 the second ADR Cross border Enforcement (ACE) took place in the Netherlands. Germany, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Croatia and the Netherlands were participating in this ACE.

One truck in two in violation during joint Euro Contrôle Route (ECR) & Benelux control

Brussels, 23.05.2018 | The Flemish Road Inspectorate (Agency for Roads and Traffic), The Netherlands Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) and the Luxembourg customs authorities, in cooperation with the local police of Antwerp, jointly checked the freight transport of dangerous goods / substances in the port of Antwerp yesterday (22.05.2018).

DVSA earned recognition for vehicle operators is a new way for organisations with lorries, buses and coaches to prove they meet driver and vehicle standards.

Change to drivers hours enforcement in the UK

If you drive a lorry, bus or coach, you must follow rules on how many hours you can drive and the breaks you need to take.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) can fine drivers up to £300 if they’re caught breaking the rules. They can also be prosecuted or have their vehicle immobilised.

At the moment, DVSA can only fine drivers for:

offences committed that day

ongoing offences, like manipulating tachograph records, which record drivers’ hours

Drivers will be fined for older offences

From Monday 5 March 2018, DVSA traffic examiners will start issuing on-the-spot fines for any drivers’ hours offences committed in the last 28 days.

A look back at the ADR Expert Class (transport of dangerous goods) in Osnabruck

For the second year running, ECR organized an expert class on the transport of dangerous goods.

Time and place:July 3rd to 7th in the Catholic Church Academy in Osnabruck.
The program set out to harmonise as much as possible the knowledge level as this contributes to the quality of ADR enforcement at the roadside.

Colleagues from Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and the Czech Republic took part.
